Romain Delplancq

Romain Delplancq è nato nel 1983 e da quarant’anni legge fantasy e scifi in ogni forma possibile. È cresciuto nella periferia di Parigi, dove ha studiato scienze politiche e filosofia. Poiché sognava di lavorare il più vicino possibile ai suoi universi geek, ha trovato lavoro nell’industria editoriale. Produzione, logistica, impaginazione grafica… Ha avuto modo di cimentarmi con manga, fumetti, libri d’arte e romanzi fino a quando il suo romanzo, una duologia fantasy a tema rinascimentale intitolata Le Sang des princes, ha attirato l’attenzione della casa editrice francese HSN Editions.
Attualmente ha pubblicato tre romanzi, l’ultimo dei quali, La Ville au plafond de verre, ha vinto il premio “Prix de la 25e Heure du Livre”. Racconta la storia di una città in insurrezione, con un tono molto comunardo e una misteriosa tecnologia retrofuturistica basata sul vetro.
Ora vive a Lione e sta scrivendo il suo quarto libro, mentre lavora per una casa editrice di giochi di ruolo da tavolo. Si occupa anche di adattamenti di romanzi scifi e fantasy da lingue straniere non inglesi al francese per la casa editrice Hikaya.

Romain Delplancq was born in 1983 and has been reading fantasy and scifi in every possible form for forty years. He grew up in the suburbs of Paris, where he studied political science and philosophy. As he dreamed of working as close as possible to his geek universes, he found a job in the publishing industry. Production, logistics, graphic layout… He was able to try his hand at manga, comics, art books and novels until his novel, a Renaissance-themed fantasy duology entitled Le Sang des princes, caught the attention of French publisher HSN Editions.
He has now three published novels, the latest of which, La Ville au plafond de verre, won the Prix de la 25e Heure du Livre award. It tells the story of a city in insurrection, with a very communard tone and a mysterious glass-based retro-futuristic technology.
He now lives in Lyon and is writing his fourth book, while working for a publisher of tabletop role-playing games. He also works on adaptations of scifi and fantasy novels from non-English foreign languages into French for the Hikaya publishing house.
